The wine is a dense purple color- with a sweet- almost blackberry liqueur nose- and smoke- licorice- and oak in the background. Jammy and rich- with huge body- good purity- adequate acidity- and a long finish- this is an impressive- surprisingly large-scaled 1999. It should age well for 10-16 years."RobertParker.comFox Creek Leader of the pack and the first wine made at Fox read more...Creek was their 1994 Shiraz- which won the Trophy for the best wine at the McLaren Vale Wine Show in 1995. Success has continued and Fox Creek now markets single varietal wines from Shiraz- Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and blends of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot (Duet)- Shiraz and Cabernet Franc (JSM)- Shiraz and Grenache and a sparkling Shiraz Cabernet Franc (Vixen). The white wines produced are Chardonnay- Sauvignon Blanc- Verdelho and a Semillon Sauvignon Blanc. Fox CreekFox Creek Reserve Shiraz"Our most celebrated wine- first made in 1994. It has great depth of colour- aroma and flavour- typical of the best wines of the McLaren Vale region. The Reserve has an extraordinary range of flavours with blackberry- blackcurrant- liquorice and dark chocolate. The wine has a rich sweet fruit mid palate and the finish is long. While approachable when young- it is recommended for medium to long term cellaring. A period of decanting before drinking is recommended." www.foxcreekwines.com (hide)
