For double the price of their generic Sauvignon, Fournierrsquo;s 2006 Sancerre Les Belles Vignes offers aromas and flavors of citrus, herbs, gooseberry, and cassis; a silken texture and palpable sense of extract; and a clean and refreshing citric, chalky, minty finish.
Light yellow. Textbook aromas of lime, pear, fresh-cut grass and herbs, with a strong mineral overtone. Light-bodied citrus flavors show a lively personality but could use more heft and sweetness. The finish is firm and gripping, leaving dusty mineral and lime pith notes behind.
