- Patrice Ollivier reported that careful triage work was absolutely essential, especially in their Savigny vineyard; by contrast, he says that their Bonnes Mares grapes came in almost as clean as they did in '99. Otherwise, 2000 presented no particular challenges though they did more frequent pigeage as the grapes did not have a lot of dry extract. The wines will be bottled in January and February. Beautifully perfumed black, earthy fruit is framed by soft new oak aromas followed by rich, dense, relatively round flavors that display excellent intensity on the long, ripe, moderately tannic read more...finish. This is lush with mouth coating richness and offers fine potential over the medium term. (hide)
