Forty-Seven Friends Pinot Noir Sonoma County 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

You will not be disappointed in this Russian River Valley Pinot Noir! The fruit was sourced from long-standing vineyards in the appellation. The wine is a bright ruby color, with a lovely nose, offers delicacy and finesse, complexity and layers of fruit, excellent mouthfeel and a long, balanced finish. If you confuse this wine with other wines at twice the price, you are in good company. We have seen wine stewards make the same mistake. Really. We took advantage of the economic downturn to deliver this superb wine to you at an amazing price. This is a handmade wine made the same way the most expensive boutique wine is made -- high quality grapes tested and weighed and sorted bin by bin, cold soak for extraction, fermented in a small, open-top tank with cap punched down, put in French oak barrels about 25% new.

Served this light Pinot Noir with Thanksgiving dinner.
