Fortant Merlot Vin de Pays d'Oc Rosé 2007

Member Review by drdebs:

Nice rose for the price, made from Merlot. Lots of cherry and blackberry fruit on this dry, full-bodied rose. The fruit gives a sweet impression, though this is not a sweet wine. Juicy aftertaste. Would be excellent with grilled sausage, spicier foods, and hot dogs.

Taking a cue from the success of the California wine industry in the 1980s, they made the then renegade decision to focus on production of single varietal wines. They explored new terrior and cultivation methods to create wines that are the best reflection of their respective growing areas in an affordable format. They work closely with growers and producers throughout the South West to create what have become a range of popular single varietal wines in dry white, red and rosé styles in bottle and box formats as well as Kosher releases.  Read less
