This wine will always have a special place in my heart as it is the wine I paired with the first ever tuna steaks I grilled on our brand new $15 charcoal grill from Pathmark.

Grooooooner! What a great way to teach consumers how to pronounce an otherwise intimidating grape name. Grooner is a collaboration of Monika Caha and Weingut Forstreiter - a delightfully crisp, inoffensive wine with crisp green apple and white pepper spice notes. One of the first wines to turn a lot of people on to Gruener Veltliner and at $11.99/bottle... who can blame them? Winemaker's notes: Variety: 100% Grüner Veltliner Producer/Wine Maker: Meinhard Forstreiter Region: Kremstal, Krems/Hollenburg, Lower Austria- on the southern bank of the Danube Appelation: Niederoesterreich Vineyard: Kremser Kogl Soil: Loess over Konglomorat (primary rock, created during the Ice Age) Climate: Mild microclimate Grapes: 17° KMW Grape treatment: Whole closter pressing Fermentation: 17.5° C steel tank, separation from yeast after fermentation Malotactic: No Alcohol: 12%vol Total acidity: 6 g/l Residual sugars: 3,3 g/l, dry Taste: Sour Apples and citrus, tropical fruit notes, balanced acidity, wine for any occasion.

Crisp and dry. Easy drinking and refreshing. Hints of apple and citrus. Perfect with all kinds of food, chicken, seafood, pork, veal, fried and spicy food, veggies, even salads, asparagus and artichokes.

There's lots of fresh apple and green peach flavors in this crisp white, which shows hints of glazed apricot on the finish. Drink now.

Juicy and fruity, with pear and pepper flavors modulated by plenty of creamy notes. Broad and rich on the finish. Drink now.

A deliciously light, fresh, crisp and grassy Gruner, offering a lively level of acidity and bright green plum flavors. There is just a touch of pepper to make this a food-friendly wine. Screwcap- with a great label.

I know what you're looking for. You're tired, frustrated... even bitter? Your feet hurt, the cart wheels are squeaky, the phone won't stop ringing and you're quickly realizing that "Electric Slide" ringtone you downloaded wasn't such a good idea after all. You've looked everywhere, tirelessly searching for a perfect white to pair with chicken and/or shrimp, right? Stop searching, you are done. Austrian Grüner Veltiner is a light-bodied, fruity white in the spirit of Riesling and Gewürztraminer. Grooner displays all the best qualities of this grape. The nose is floral and crisp and the pale golden color stays true to a body that is light and bouncy, with a touch of herbs and grass. I paired Grooner with grilled shrimp and a garden salad with mustard and olive oil dressing - a match made in wine-pairing heaven.
