Add your reviewTested at 72 deg F. This wine was unusual and a challenge to characterize. Not a grassy sauv blanc, on the nose has minerally stone and strong musky notes (some said "cat pee", that might describe it). Decent acid bite on the attack and slightly heavy in the mouth with some spicy musky flavors that wrap around muted notes of tropical and citrus (grapefruit) fruit in the background. Dryish. Body medium plus, acid medium.
Quick follow-up, after 1 day vacu-vin in the fridge ... this wine blew off most of its muskiness and gained richer citrus and tropical (pineapple-like) fruit which came forward in the mid-palate along with a bit of grassiness. In other words less funk and more wow. I liked it both ways.

Wine Tasting NotesThis wine offers citrus, stone fruit (peach) and pear characters in both aroma and taste. The wine is fully textural with good fruit and body in the mid-palate. The finish, being a little more structural, gives excellent length and delivery. The key to Forefathers is balance and complexity with underlying power. On the palate the wine is firm, creamy and viscous. The long silky mouth makes the wine drink beautifully now, and will improve over the next three years. It will be difficult to see this quality again for many years.
