Foradori Granato 2009
“Once again, the 2009 Granato is flat-out dazzling. The marriage of flashy, opulent fruit and intense underlying minerality results in a wine of superb completeness. Readers will find a wine of immense and immediate pleasure in the 2009. The soft contours and radiant personality are so compelling. Granato fans should cellar the 2010 for a few years and drink the 2009 in the meantime. This is another absolutely glorious wine from Elisabetta Foradori. The 2009 was aged in equal parts cask and barrique….95.” Antonio Galloni 5/13
External Reviews for Foradori Granato
Dark ruby. Sweet, ripe aromas of red cherry syrup, tobacco and brown spices, with a hint of raspberry liqueur. Dense, thick and sweet on the palate, but with sound acidity framing the rich flavors of red cherry, tobacco and mocha. Finishes broad and very long, with the tannins thoroughly buffered by the wine's rich mid-palate fruit. This is currently an infant and comes across as a little chunky and one-dimensionally fruity, but it has all the trappings to turn into a standout Granato.
Aromatic dried herb and violet notes lace this open-knit, creamy red. Bright and lively, with pure flavors of plum sauce, black raspberry, salumi, star anise, espresso and forest floor. Accessible now but suited to the cellar, displaying elegance and integration, density and cut. Teroldego. Drink now through 2024.
