Foppiano Vineyards Lot 96 Petite Sirah Sonoma 2014

External Review by We Speak Wine:

Product information: On the nose, blueberries, dark chocolate and black cherry are the predominant aromatics with a touch of floral and spice. In the mouth, Lot 96 tastes smooth, fruity and is very approachable with ripe blackberry, plum, blueberry and red cherry. It features well-integrated, supple tannins balanced with a strong backbone of acidity and fruit. The finish of blackberry and vanilla lingers for minutes. Producer information: Foppiano Vineyards sits on a 160-acre estate in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley, known as one of the most esteemed wine regions in the world. The family planted grape varieties that thrive in this temperate coastal region: Petite Sirah, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay, among others. Paul Foppiano, grandson of patriarch Louis J. Foppiano, manages the vineyard and maintains superior vineyard practices. With a great respect for the earth, the Foppiano family farms their land sustainably by limiting pesticide use and providing the highest level of care and maintenance. It is our goal to ensure the vineyards continue to produce quality fruit now, and for many years to come. The story of Foppiano Vineyards is a family epic full of tradition, perseverance and contributions to the history of Sonoma County and the wine industry. Founded in 1896 by Giovanni Foppiano, Foppiano Vineyards is one of Sonoma County's oldest continually-operated, family-owned wineries. Our family has supplied northern California with wine for over a century, surviving Prohibition in the 1920s by selling home winemaking kits. We believe that through the strength of the family and a commitment to quality, our traditions can be maintained and thrive.

Our Lot 96 Petite Sirah is the ideal every day red. Bright aromas of blackberry and cherry are balanced with subtle spicy nuances that follow through to the palate. Smooth and balanced, this wine has good acid ity harmonizing with soft tannins. We pair this with Pizza, Pasta, burgers, you name it. It’s our go - to Wednesday night wine. - Winery VARIETALS: 75% PETITE SIRAH 18% ZINFANDEL 7% CARIGNANE

Aromas of Cherry and vanilla give way to flavors of ripe black cherry, blackberry and raspberry. The finish offers a surprise of rich caramel. Refreshing acidity holds throughout, making it a wine perfect for serving with seared ahi tuna or grilled salmon. - Winery
