This is what Petite Sirah should taste like! It offers a huge structure of deep, rich purple colors and concentrated flavors from nose to finish. The aroma is a ripe package of berries, chocolate, and spice, leading into an explosive mouthful of boysenberry, black pepper, and vanilla. The pedigree of fruit in this wine gives it a character and complexity youll savor - enjoy! This is the essence of California Petite Sirah! The Foppiano Petite is reliably consistent vintage after vintage. I have tasted the 2002 vintage on numerous occasions with and w/o food.
The nose more than hints of floral tones. I have always noticed a violet type of nose with hints of dried fruit.
The color is dark and dense purple with good clarity.
This wine has an interesting flavor profile that evolves on the palate and in the glass with time. At first I have noticed the jammy fruit with noticable, but well-rounded tannins. With time in the glass the tannins smooth out even read more...
