Fontanafredda Briccotondo Barbera Piemonte DOC 2014

Winemaker's Notes:

The vineyards for this delightful Barbera are situated around Piemonte, on mid to high altitude sites with good exposure and a high content of clayey and calcareous marl soils. Fermentation is in stainless steel tanks. The wine is deep rustic red in colour with an aromatic, spicy nose of red fruits and damsons. Medium bodied and soft, with balancing structure to the blackberry and morello cherry flavours, it finishes rounded and supple with a hint of liquorice. It is excellent with pasta, particularly with a cheese based sauce, or meaty pizzas and pan fried or barbecued red meat.
