Fontanafredda Briccotondo Barbera Piemonte DOC 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

This is a ruby-red wine with purple highlights. The nose is packed with black fruit, especially blackberries and plumps, with slight spicy overstones hinting at black pepper and cinnamon. Sweet, soft tannins come together in a closely-woven texture that merges with the fruit, while a crisp freshness provides a long, tasty finish. A perfect match for starters, cured meats and fresh and medium mature cheeses. Not yet reviewed; 2012 vintage rated 87 points by Wine Advocate: ...a clean, fresh and personable wine with dark concentration, soft touches of fleshy fruit and blackberry preserves. The grape's acidity has been managed and softened thanks to the evident ripeness of the fruit. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2015.
