What to Expect

Nebbiolo is a fickle grape famed as much for its pale appearance as for its tannic character and produces some of the most perfumed and richly flavored wines. Though generally only medium-bodied, the wines possess rose and anise scented aromatics and deep flavors of cherry, orange peel and subtle green herb tones.

Typology: red wine D.O.C.

Type of grapevine:
100% Nebbiolo, the vineyard was established in 1997 and encompasses approx. 1.5 hectares on a west-facing slope.


Alcohol content: 13.5°

Characteristics:
More or less dark ruby colour with aged pomegranate-red tendency. As it acquires its perfection over the years, the hint of violets becomes increasingly evident.

Vinification:
Vines are pruned according to Guyot method, with 7-8 axils per bud. Robust vines and young vines. Traditional, read more...temperature-controlled vinification and racking of the wine in barriques for refinement of 8-10 months.

Serving temperature and suitable foods:
The wine is best served at 18°C in red wine glasses suitable for robust wines.
Excellent with white meats such as poultry, cold cuts and medium-aged cheeses.    (hide)
