Fonseca Porto Late Bottled Vintage(2000)

A robust, old-fashioned LBV with exceptional body and grip produced primarily from foot-trodden wines from Fonseca’s vineyards. It is intense, firm and long on the finish, with impressive depth and complexity in the rich Fonseca style.

Deep purple color that was non-translucent. Strong berry nose and a jammy taste with hints of currant and berry. Medium tannins with a sweetness that lingers. Flavors fills your mouth and stays. Medium to heavy bodied port that was almost chewy in texture. Very good for the price and vintage!

Deep and very rich with raisin and black currant notes. Dessert wine sweetness is offset by medium tannins. Not as good as a nice, aged vintage port but still quite a bit of fun and without the 20 year wait.
