An everyday/evening Port, enough complexity to enjoy and make interesting.
This wine caught me completely off guard. Having never had a Port before, I'm thinking I picked a good one. The nose is amazing with beautiful complexity. It's a bit heavy on alcohol on the nose but it never comes through on the taste. Certainly decanter or aerate this baby. The taste will knock you back if you're not ready. Cherry, cedar, chocolate and everything amazing comes through in this. Not great by itself, but it will pair well with a great deal of food. Certainly a great one for friends and a meal. Bring this one with you for the holidays.
External Reviews for Fonseca Bin 27 Porto
One of the big brands in Reserve Ports, Bin 27 is long and well established. So it's good to report that it is great wine, with sweetness and balancing acidity and fruit. Soft and juicy it is ready to drink, but there are structure and flavors of dried raisins to give it some aging potential. - R.V.
Full, rich and fruity wine, enticingly aromatic, with strawberry fruits and an easy, just tannic edge. The wine is soft, ripe, the fruits finely balanced with acidity. Wine Enthusiast. A Port wine from Douro in Portugal. N.V. Fonseca Finest Reserve Bin 27 Non Vintage 750ml
Fresh and grapey with plenty of grip and power behind dark plum chocolate and berry flavors that feature slate and pepper notes. Drink now through 2020. -KM Wine Spectator.

Fonseca Bin 27 was created over a century ago for family consumption, and only released commercially in 1972. It is produced primarily from wines from Fonseca's own quintas in the Cima Corgo and thus shows an exceptional quality and consistency from year to year. Blended from reserve wines selected for their superb fruit character and depth of color, it's well-knit structure, rich, velvety full body and luscious blackcurrant and cherry flavors, also dominant in the bouquet, finish on an intense, lingering note. - Winery
