Folie a Deux Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2007
External Reviews for Folie a Deux Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Folie a Deux winery is located in the heart of Napa Valley right on Highway 29. It was founded in 1981 by two psychiatrists, who took the name from a psychiatric term for a fantasy shared by two people. It quickly gained a reputation for solid Napa Valley wines at good prices. Since the Trinchero family took over in 2004 the the estate has blossomed with the introduction of the Menage a Trois line, now the top selling red wine in the U.S. The is Cab is sourced from the Trinchero's extensive vineyard holdings throughout Napa Valley. It's 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Syrah. The wine is carefully vinified in the Delestage method where the juice is drained off the skins, seeds are removed and the juice is returned. This provides good extraction of color and flavors while reducing bitter tannins. Aged for 18 months in french and American oak barrels the wines shows bright cassis and black cherry flavors with dusty mineral notes and soft supple tannins. Another super '08 Cab at a great price. Don't miss it.
