Foley Estates Pinot Noir 2006
Deep garnet in color with purple highlights, the Rancho Santa Rosa Pinot Noir has aromas of black cherry, blackberry and blueberry. There are also earth notes of mushroom, black tea and smoked meats. There is some tannin, but it is well integrated in this plump, mouth-filling wine. Drink now, or hang onto it for five to ten years, if you prefer.
Top Santa Rita producer. Any pinot noir from Foley Estates is good.
Closed at first, this wine can benefit from decanting. Ultimately reveals bright red strawberry and spice components. Medium acidity with light tannins and a gentle medium finish. Should benefit from some aging. Doesn't have the typical Foley Pinot aromatics, but this could develop with cellaring.
