Flying Fish Riesling 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Floral, apricot, peach and nectarine aromas are followed by balanced layers of ripe fruit, crisp minerality and a lingering finish. The 2008 vintage was cooler than normal, resulting in longer hang time, higher acidity, and spicy aromas. Food Pairings: Spicy chicken dishes, grilled seafood and sausages and all types of Asian cuisine.

Our entries into the Perth Royal Wine Show brought us the 'Most Successful Exhibitor - under 300 tonne' trophy for both 2005 and 2007. We are also home to 'The Young Winemaker of the Year 2009 for Australia and New Zealand' - Ryan Aggiss. Flying Fish Cove winery is situated 25km north of the Margaret river town site, along Caves Road in the renowed Wilyabrup area. Next door to the winery is 'Wildberry Estate', the Flying Fish Cove vineyard - consisting of 25 hectares of vines planted in 1997 by several of our shareholders. In 2000 a group of 20 grape growers in the region invested in the construction of the Flying Fish Cove winery, which carried out its first vintage in 2001. In 2009 it fully processed 23,000 cases.
