2006 Flora Springs Chardonnay Napa Valley is a perfect combination of all the best growing regions in Napa Valley. It boasts flavors of peach and pear on the palate, with just a hint of pineapple, and the mouthfeel is creamy and luscious. This wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation because of the considerable richness that is inherent in our fruit. It is a delicious wine that pairs beautifully with food or can be enjoyed alone. Big, bold and delicious, a full-throttle Chard that's drenched with new oak notes of vanilla, spice and smoky char. Below that, the pear and pineapple flavors float in a creamy texture that's enhanced with good acidity. Give it a year to knit together.
This Chardonnay is a great example of a white wine that improves with age, and is definetly at its peak. The Flora Springs winemaking team painstakingly tastes through each barrel of this Chardonnay to select only the finest few for this cuvée. The barrels are then isolated and re-tasted serveral more times before the final, and very limited, selection is made. The best new oak barrels are utilized for the wine, a small production, non-malolacting offering that is aged on its lees. Delectable aromas of honeyed citrus and white peaches are followed by mango, pineapple, peach and pear on the palate with a beautiful lingering finish. Pair this wine with Chicken Cordon Bleu or Shrimp Scampi and pasta.
Has all your basic barrel-fermented Chardonnay character without being particularly complex. The wine is slightly sweet and oaky-creamy, with apricot, pineapple, peach and spicy mango flavors.
