Wines of such remarkable character and quality as to be in a class by themselves.
I like a nice crisp chardonnay but this one is thick and dull for my taste, despite it's higher price range.

WA 90pts. - Crazy good deal on this 90 Point Chardonnay which Robert Parker called "Outstanding... with a rich, concentrated finish". Winemaker Notes - Flora Springs Barrel Fermented Chardonnay is Napa Valley history in a bottle. In 1980, at a time when Chardonnay was the true ambassador for wines from the New World, Flora Springs began its reign as one of the great Chardonnay producers from Napa Valley. Disregarding trends, Flora Springs continues to craft its Barrel Fermented Chardonnay in a style that has inspired white wine producers and created loyal Chardonnay connoisseurs for the last 30 years.
Balance, balance, balance - in life, in wine, after a bottle of wine - it's an elusive ambition. However, after thirty years of crafting world renowned wines, the Flora Springs name has become synonymous with perfectly balanced Napa Valley Chardonnay. The Legacy began when our inaugural vintage in 1978 was awarded a gold medal at the Orange Country Fair. A few years later our status of gold was bronzed when James Laube selected Flora Springs as one of his "First Growth" producers of Chardonnay in his book California's Great Chardonnays. Our Napa Valley Chardonnay combines the enticing characteristics of three highly renowned growing regions in the Napa Valley: Oakville, Carneros, and St. Helena. This blend of fruit from the warmer appellations on the valley floor as well as the cool rolling hills of Carneros allows us to craft a Chardonnay with great intensity and restraint. This bottling celebrates the natural tropical fruit flavors in the fruit sourced from our sustainably farmed vineyards and allows the bright acidity to shine. - Winery
The Chardonnay Barrel Fermented offers rich flavors of peach and pear with a hint of pineapple on the palate. This wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation do to the considerable richness that is inherent in our fruit. We choose to highlight the bright acidity available in our Chardonnay to create a delicious wine that can pair beautifully with food or simply be enjoyed alone.
