Flora Springs "Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford Hillside Reseve" Napa Valley 2008
Our Napa Valley Merlot remains consistent over the years and this vintage is no exception. It boasts full fruit characteristics of strawberry and cherry, with a hint of raspberry and spiciness. A small amount of new oak barrels were used in the aging process, and we used a combination of French, American and Eastern European barrels to create a pronounced, but layered oak characteristic in the wine. The tannins are tea-like and smooth, making this wine one of our favorites for any occasion.
Wines of such remarkable character and quality as to be in a class by themselves.
Jammy fruit. Brandy-like undertones and a little bit of zing. Fun wine.

A flashy, classy wine, grown in the estate vineyard in the benchlands and hills above Rutherford. Shows lots of sweet, ripe cherry fruit and toasty oak, but has enough of an acid-tannin structure to dry it out for balance. Should hold and develop over the next 6-8 years. S.H. One of the first proprietary Bordeaux blends made in Napa was Flora Springs' Trilogy. The 2008 (79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 2.5% Petit Verdot and 2.5% Malbec) exhibits a beautiful deep ruby/purple color along with sweet blueberry, black raspberry and black currant fruit intermixed with some floral notes, well-integrated oak and spice, medium to full body and silky tannins. Already complex and delicious, this blend should continue to drink well for 10-15 years. ** Only 8 in Stock **
It is hard for us to contain our excitement over the release of the 2008 Trilogy. It exhibits all of the classic Trilogy attributes with a lovely cassis and cherry bouquet as well as huge black fruit flavors that envelope the palate. However, the layers of flavor go beyond anything we have previously crafted and the mouth-feel is wonderfully lush and polished.
