Rating: 86/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the August 2010 issue. Once the winery's flagship bottling, Trilogy comes up a bit wanting in this vintage. Ripe and weedy with a trim of dark chocolate, it is never clearly defined vis-à-vis fruit, and it winds up a touch stiff and vaguely sour after a fairly soft start. It fails to convince that time will smooth off its angles and edges, and keeping comes without guarantee.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Cellar for future drinking. Wine will improve with bottle aging.

Rating: 88/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the August 2010 issue. Incisively fruity and keenly Cabernet in conviction, this nicely composed wine hits all the right varietal marks in the nose. While its lively and long-lasting flavors follow suit in terms of precise curranty fruit, they are still a bit narrow and stiffened just now by obvious acids and nominal tannins. The wine would be well served by a little more polish, and that polish strikes us as only a matter of time.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Cellar for future drinking. Wine will improve with bottle aging.

Rating: 92/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the August 2010 issue. The deepest and most polished of the numerous Flora Springs offerings, the Rennie Reserve is long on sweet fruit and gets a marked boost in richness from its plentiful oak. Firm and full-bodied with just a bit of baby fat easing its way at the moment, it is both a fairly complete Cabernet and one that is charged with lots of youthful energy. Its initial plumpness may invite early enjoyment, but make no mistake, this wine is one meant for the cellaring and is certain to grow for another five to ten years.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Cellar for future drinking. Wine will improve with bottle aging.

Winemaker's Notes:

Year after year this wine is a favorite among our loyal fans - it exhibits all of the characteristics of a classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Ripe flavors of black cherry and cocoa envelop the front of the mouth and move across the palate into a soft lingering finish. Each vintage we look to reveal the true character of our estate vineyards while using oak as an undertone, highlighting the inherent flavors.
