Flecha de Los Andes Gran Reserva Malbec 2006

Member Review by Katrin:

This big, dense, elegant wine is a stellar Malbec. As soon as you pour it, you know that it is different from many of the other Malbecs on the market: dark center with violet rim and long legs on the sides of the glass. Stewed black cherries, black pepper, and mushrooms are among the aromas. The mouthfeel of this wine is rich and perfectly balanced: velvety tannins, good acidity, and a slight bitterness. My only reservation about this wine is the alcohol level, which comes in at 15.5%. It does not come across on the palate as hot or alcoholic, but it is higher than what I prefer to drink.
