(all stainless steel): Vivid ruby-red. Bright, spice-accented red fruit and flowers on the nose and palate. Light-bodied, very fruity and brisk, with firm finishing cut and no tannins to get in the way of immediate gratification. This is way too easy to drink. A good pizza/hamburger wine, Flaco's 2012 Tempranillo (100% Tempranillo) is a noteworthy value at $9 a bottle. Light-bodied with plenty of herbaceous strawberry and sweet cherry fruit, it offers a pleasant mouthfeel as well as good texture. The word "Flaco" in Spanish means "dude," and this is a wine that all dudes can enjoy over the next year. Flaco, which means "dude" in English, is a wine made from Spains signature grape with character that belies its price. (no oak): Deep red. Pungent redcurrant and cherry aromas are complicated by anise, black pepper and dried rose. Red fruit preserves and bitter cherry on the silky palate, along with a touch of rhubarb. Closes on a tangy note, with gentle tannic grip and a lingering cherry pit quality. The head-pruned vineyards are in the Arganda district, southeast of Madrid, on clay over granite subsoil at 2,400 feet elevation. Madrid is, as yet, a largely unknown region - hence its ability to deliver over-performing wines that represent incredible value in todays market. The regions southern Continental climate of hot days and cool nights insures a gradual, balanced maturation of the fruit. Usually harvested in mid-September, it is macerated, fermented and aged in a combination of stainless steel and cement tanks to emphasize t...

An easy drinking wine that is not so simple! Bursting with luscious bush-ripened berry fruit, soft and enjoyable on the palate. 100% stainless steel and cement fermentation preserves the youthful fresh fruit profile. Not many people know that the outskirts of Madrid are full of old Tempranillo vines. The region's subsoil of hard granite contributes to the resulting wine's structure. And the DO's relative obscurity keeps the prices low!
