Bright red. Strawberry and raspberry on the scented nose. Light-bodied and lively, with tangy red fruit flavors that could use a bit more heft. Finishes clean and brisk, with good focus and decent persistence.

Tight, focused and minerally, with a stony component to the dark berry and spice flavors, all floating over a light, transparent structure. Not tough, but needs time to resolve the tightness. Best from 2012 through 2018.

Light and fragrant, offering raspberry and cherry fruit nestling gently into a bed of velvety tannins, hinting at beets on the finish. Drink now through 2014.

The entry-level 2008 Pinot Noir Williamette Valley is fairly priced and widely accessible (12,000+ cases). Medium ruby red, it offers up a pleasant nose of cinnamon, clove, rose petal, strawberry, and cherry. Medium-bodied, round, and easygoing with ample sweet fruit, it will deliver pleasure over the next 5ndash;6 years.

Deep red with a bright rim. Pure but subdued aromas of blackcurrant, cherry pit and rose petal. Juicy and penetrating but quite tight, even austere, hinting at musky dark fruits and succulent herbs. This youthful, concentrated wine offers little immediate sweetness but unwinds nicely with an hour or so of aeration.
