Saturated, dark red-ruby color. Flamboyant aromas of plum, Cuban cigar tobacco, grilled meat, minerals and spicy oak; not for cabernet lovers with brett allergies. Large-scaled, supple and lush, with nicely integrated acidity. Strong in extract, but can't quite match the '96 for sweetness or charm. Here the tannins are a bit tougher. Similar finishing note of leather. Perhaps the perfect accompaniment to a good cigar.
