Fish Eye Chardonnay 2010

Member Review by Amanda Schuster:

Holy residual sugar, Batman! Super fruity (pears, golden apple, pineapple). Also has this cedar note that's odd for a Chardonnay. However, if I didn't know it was Chardonnay and ate Chinese food with it, maybe it would work.

The winery was founded by surfing buff Steve Roden, who is also known for his penchant for neon colors, as evidenced by the Fisheye wine labels. The name derives from the Aussie term for a particularly good catch - a.k.a. “The man’s got the fish eye.” Roden is believed to have the “fish eye” for wine, using years of knowledge and expertise to craft wines indicative of the local soils of South Eastern Australia. These are single varietal wines in white, red and rosé styles meant for casual sipping that are easy to pair with a variety of foods. They are available in traditional bottles as well as large format wine casks, designed to prevent oxidization up to 6 weeks after opening.  Read less

Mouth watering pear, baked apple and tropical swirls of pineapple roll on the palate like a ship at sea. Creme brulee, vanilla and caramel all contribute to a rich mouth feel and lingering finish.
