I was steered toward this wine as a potential "Thanksgiving" wine. I am glad I did not serve it then. I guess my tastes run a little more toward a fruit forward pinot. I just did not see much flavor to the wine.

Definitely not the best PN on here. 2007 has shown to be a very tricky year for Oregon Pinot Noir. Rain was especially heavy toward the end of the season creating very affected grapes. This example is no different. A thin body is followed by an almost astringent sourness, very little fruit character can shine through the immensely mouth-puckering aftertaste. What a shame.

not bad at all, somewhat thin but nice fruit flavor and very drinkable, not bad to have around the house as a house wine for family and friends and that is never a bad thing. I give it a B

The wine is richly aromatic like a warm berry cobbler topped with cold vanilla ice cream. Lively in the mouth each sip is brimming with black cherry and raspberry flavors that continue through to the richly rewarding finish.Winery.

Winemaker's Notes:

Firesteed started as a ‘virtual winery’ in 1992, and although there is now a physical winery, the winemaking philosophy remains unchanged. In the words of Howard Rossbach, “We seek to make wines of quality and value and once we find them we work out long-term contracts with grape growers to produce wines to our specifications.” This Pinot Noir has a good depth of bright, ruby colour, with perfumes of spiced berry fruit on the nose. On the palate, it is bright and lively, with good balance between a juicy, cherry fruit character and a lightly spiced backbone of ripe tannins. The spice from the oak carries through to the finish.
