Food Pairings for Firefly Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon San Luis Obispo County
was on sale for $6 normally $16. Now I know why I never by huge discounted wines like this one. Normally they are horrible. This one is no exception. Terrible wine. absolute junk.
Complex? , no but then, sometimes I don't want to think the wine but just enjoy the simplicity of flavors. This Cab fits the bill for me. This is my first time with this wine and can't wait to get off here and get back to my bbq and enjoy this beautiful May 1st day with this good time weekend wine.
This is a great budget wine. With a pleasant bouquet and great flavor. Too bad they don't have a website. I would love to learn more about this winery.
I found this wine completely undrinkable, and Im not even a wine snob. I would take my money somewhere else for sure
Not bad. Buying it on sale, ordinarily about 15-16 dollars. I think it's a decent daily drinking Cab, nothing special but not bad at all.
I thought this wine was pretty good for its price - $5.99 at Safeway. Definitely good as an everyday table wine.
Not sure about the rest of the crew here in the review section although, wino shea made my day with that five dollar price tag... can anyone say sawweeeeeeet! I may have tried this central coast cabernet at some other time in my life but I obviously did not have a memorable moment...maybe. Recently within the last two months I was blessed to have found a bottle my dear friend had been sitting on for quite some time. It is now 2011 and I was about to enjoy a bottle of Firefly Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon year 2005. Maybe it's just me, no, no, it was not me for sure so it had to be the wine, yes, it was the wine for sure because it had a flavor and body and aroma that screemed velvety, very smooth and such rich flavors of those berries and all that real character a good cab should have whether you want to just kick off the shoes after a hard long day or with friends on a little get together or possibly with a nice formal sit down with a table full of delights such as cheeses and crackers of your choice of course and bowls of lovely pasta with meatballs or perhaps a fine bold new york or even that rib eye I have had my eye on. Let me rephrase, it was excellent and seemed to have aged very well since 2005. I will be looking for more of this liquid gold for sure. I wonder if 2003 can hold a candle to 2005? I guess I will have to conduct a private survey involving many bottles.... ..what can I say, I am stickler for details. Drink up, enjoy and be well everyone.
