The superb red varietal Mencia is an indigenous grape to Spain. The vines are grown on clay soil in the small town of Monterrei - in Galicia, north-west Spain. The climate is continental with cold winters, hot summers and influence from the Atlantic. Finca OS Cobatos hand harvest their 10 hectares of vines and ferment it with natural yeast strains for about 3 months and produce this stunning wine, normally only available to the local population. Grapes : 100% Mencia Region : Spain / Galicia / Moterrei DO Maker : Manuel Mendez Notes : S mooth and round with delicious black fruit and freshness that the Mencia grape is known for. Perfectly balanced by savoury vanilla oak and leading to a long and clean finish. Serve : Ideal with fuller fish dishes, sausages and cold cuts of meat. Can be lightly chilled to enjoy outside in the summer months ABV : 13.5%
