The color immediately makes me think of uber dark grape juice. The kind my parents used to give me as a kid at the kiddie table when they were having wine. Put your nose in a garden of violets then splash just a touch of dark grape and cherry juice on you, and you've pegged this wine. Albeit a little reserved, it still shows some nice earthy aromas. In the mouth, this wine is shows intense and strong acidity, with silky fine tannins and a bright dark red and black fruit. Fabulous wine but needs some time to both open and show its true colors. Curious how it will pair with food as well?

Wow, great looking wine with a vibrant purplish red color direct from the Crayola box! The nose on this puppy is intense with some rich red and black fruits, and seems to have a rich violet interior, though still wound up tight. In the mouth this wine has a rich acidity and nice fine tannins that create a rich and deep body. Great fruit, think black berries with a sharp intensity that sees hints of violets and black pepper. Being such a big wine I would suggest letting it breathe for an hour or two, and pair it with something that has some rich flavors, this will not yield to the subtle.
