What to Expect
Though Mourvèdre is a grape with Spanish roots, where it is known as Monastrell, it is most closely associated with the South of France and the Bandol appelation in particular, where the grape produces rich, powerful wines that retain rustic tannins partnered with dark, wild berry flavors and gamy, leathery nuances. It is also commonly called Mataro in California.

The results of this struggle between vine and nature is a wine with tremendous saturation of color, round rich flavors of ripe plums, blackberries and cassis, balanced with notes of warm spices. The integrated tannins and the long, well developed finish are the culmination of gifted winemaking and 12 months of careful aging in French and American barrels.

50% Monastrell Old Vines, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Tempranillo Oak-influenced aromas of vanilla and baking spices, ripe blackberry, plum and boysenberry. Lush dark berry flavors with vanilla, cinnamon and clove accents. Finishes on a dark berry liqueur note, with subtle tannins and a good finish.
