Finca las Moras Tannat Tulum Valley Reserva NV

Member Review by Blinky:

Tannat is such a fascinating grape, it just makes this wine worthwhile right there!! As for the aromas, definitely oaky, tobacco smoke and leather, the appearance is great, and it tastes like dried fruit with a hint of vanilla and in your face tannins. The tannins are certainly the best part - great dry and leathery feel typical of tannat that lingers for several seconds. However, do not expect the powerful experience that comes with a solid French Madiran. This wine is very enjoyable and is a great value.

Finca Las Moras, named after the blackberry trees (“moras” is Spanish for “blackberries”) on the estates, has been producing high-end wines since 1933. The estates are located in San Juan’s three main valleys.
