Finca la Celia Malbec Reserva 2005

Member Review by jaywalia:

A solid Malbec from Uco Valley situated in the famous Mendoza Region in Argentina. A beautiful deep red, almost brownish hue to the wine, thick looking like a port but not as expressive on the nose. Mild scent of spice and a touch of sweetness but dont let the smell fool you. On the palate an explosion of spice, Pepper in particular followed by Cardamon and perhaps a touch of Cumin. Tasted similar to a Chianti but less full bodied, more medium and with a lessor tannin bite, finish gives an illusion of sweetness entwined with a grapey sourness. A marvelous value for money red.Decant before drinking, would age well.

The Malbec produced at our winery is a clear example of the conditions offered by the Uco Valley to produce excellent wines. In the year 2000, Finca La Celia became the first foreign affiliate of the vineyard San Pedro ( Chile ). The lands were acquired by the company part of the CCU group, leader in the business of drinks (beer, wine, grappa, soft drinks, fruit juices and mineral water).
