Fiftyrow Napa Cabernet 2007
THE WINEMAKER Gary grew up playing in the vineyards on the street which bears his family name, Galleron Road. His grandparents, French immigrants, settled in the Napa Valley in 1918 and began the winegrowing legacy that Gary maintains today. Gary first started up the winemaking ladder at Chateau Montelena under the guidance of Mike Grgich. Since then, Gary has gone on to produce world-class, award-winning wines for the most prestigious names in the Napa Valley including Whitehall Lane, Grace Family, Hartwell, Vineyard 29, Del Dotto, Seavey, and S. Anderson.
Food Pairings for Fiftyrow Napa Cabernet
Robert Parker, Wine Advocate --- An impressive discovery for me, Fiftyrow’s 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of fruit from Rutherford’s Morisoli Vineyard and Lewelling Vineyards (one of my favorite under-the-radar Cabernet estates). This pure Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits a dense ruby/purple hue in addition to notes of white chocolate, black currants, earth and a Pauillac-like cedarwood note. This is a fullbodied, exuberant effort with good texture, lots of purity, depth and richness as well as terrific overall balance. It should age well for 10-15 or more years. Total production is 440 cases, so it has some availability.
