Fiftyrow Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

88 points Robert Parker: The 2005 Fiftyrow, which comes from proprietor Paul Johnson and his co-winemaker Gary Galleron, is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Lewelling Vineyard and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Morisoli Vineyard, two top sources in Napa Valley. This wine spent 22 months in French oak prior to being bottled. A lovely showing for this wine, with a deep ruby/purple/plum color, sweet black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, silky tannins, no real evidence of any oak anymore, and a medium to full-bodied, elegant, almost Margaux-like finesse and freshness. This medium-bodied, well-endowed, supple-textured wine may lack some complexity, but offers deliciously pure fruit and has attained its plateau of maturity, where it should last another 7-8 years. Drink: 2015-2023. (Jun 2015)
