Fife Vineyards Max Cuvee St. Helena/Calistoga Napa Valley 2001

Winemaker's Notes:

The near opaque deep black-purple color portends richness, and this wine has it. Beautiful, refined black cherry and licorice flavors dominate the wine's beginning and get more luscious on the end. MAX has always been the kind of wine that seems to want to make a statement. The statement here is not raw power, but power suffused through elegance. This vintage is very similar to the geat 1999, slightly softer with even more elegance.St. Helena/Calistoga, Napa Valley47% Petite Syrah, 47% Syrah, 6% CarignaneAlcohol 14.2%pH 3.80TA 0.60Cases Produced:800 casesOak:18 MonthsFrench100%

Fife Vineyards:
Fife Vineyards is a small, family-operated winery producing wines that express their terroir and a European sensibility. They are food-friendly wines based on red Bordeaux, Rhône and Zinfandel varietals. We strive to avoid over-ripeness, excess oak and high alcohol, which we believe would mask the unique terroir driven flavors of our wines.

Complex and very tasty! Excellent choice for summer BBQ of beef dishes.
