Fields Family Wines Estate Grown Syrah 2010
Editorial Reviews for Fields Family Wines Estate Grown Syrah
A little stemmy and herb scented on the nose with dark fruit that shows a roasted edge but with some spicy, black pepper freshness, a gentle floral top note and deep sweet, teriyaki meatiness. Round, a little chewy and decidedly opulent in the mouth, this is much more California styled than the 09 with masses of blue fruit framed by gentle herbal and soil spice notes. This is ultimately a little inky, long and powerful, finishing with good length but a bit too massive for my palate. 89pts

This Syrah comes from the Fields Family estate vineyard located in the Lodi appellation. One of Lodi’s first Organic certified vineyards. The entire vineyard is under Organic farming practices. Aromas of ripe raspberries and that classic Syrah spice unfold beautifully into a well integrated silky and smooth finish. Aged in 100% French oak.
Mother nature has gifted the palate in grattitude for this vinter's farming practices.
The Spirit of '76 is alive in this bottle! It came out of it one night while I had a few and spoke to me. It said, Peanuts, if you don't get out of that cage and do something with your life you'll be nothing but Peruvian cuisine. It also said I'd be crazy not to buy a case of this wine.
Won Best of Show at the San Diego International Wine Competition.
