Winemakers Notes

After careful consideration and countless trial blends, our winemaker arrived at this select blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Our Meritage displays notes of ripe fruit and dark chocolate with delicous flavours of vanilla, blackberries and leather. Soft supple tannins on the finish ensure this wine will age gracefully for years.

You can smell the age on the nose. This is a smoky, earthy Bordeaux blend. Very leathery with mellowed soft fruits. Basically well aged with some secondary complexity, but less powerful as a result. Smooth with soft tannins.

Lots of spice and smokeiness. The Cab Franc definitely comes through. Very good. Could use a bit more time?
