"Black and bitter" in Italian, not surprisingly Negroamaro has origins in the Southern Italy's Puglia region and is an important grape both on its own and as a blending grape. It contributes a rich, slightly rustic mouthfeel to a finished wine imbued with a slightly burnt, earthy quality that accentuates deep, roasted plum and mocha toned fruit.

Deep ruby red with bright garnet reflections. Very fruit driven with opulent cherry and prune character accompanied by spice and Mediterranean herbs. Medium-to-full bodied with fresh fruit up front, smooth tannin and a slight bitterness on the finish that will pair perfectly with salty salami, savories, red meat and cheese. - Tech Notes Blend of Negroamaro & Malvasia Nera.
