Fetzer Johannisberg Riesling Mendocino 2009
Our Riesling is delicate, yet full of fruit forward flavors and aromas. There are aromas of dried fruit, lemon, lavender, jasmine and rose petal. In the mouth, the crisp acidity balances this well structured wine with flavors of peaches, pineapple and pear that lead to a smooth rich, mellow finish.

Rating: 85/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the September 2010 issue. In all truth, this wine is more concerned with sweetness than it is with clear-cut Riesling fruit, but it is a balanced, well-scrubbed offering that does not become cloying. Still, its obvious sugars will present a challenge at the table, and it might best be served alongside Summertime finishing courses of strawberries, fresh pears and mild cheeses.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Unlikely to improve with further aging.
Rich aromas of pear and apricot meld with heady honeysuckle. In the mouth, the wine is full-bodied, with fresh, floral aromas accented by notes of apricot and peach. The finish is generous and full.
Bright apricots, apples, peaches - there's a bushel basket of flavorsand aromas in every glass. The wine is delicate, yet full and pairswonderfully well with spicy Thai or Asian foods, as well as traditionalholiday foods like baked ham or turkey. There's dried fruit and zesty lemon on the nose, with notes of lavender, jasmine and rose petal. As you taste, the crisp acid balances nicely in a well structured wine that offers peaches, pineapple and pear in a smooth, rich, mellow finish.Slightly sweet, but barely noticeable with the fruit-forward flavors.

With quite a bit of residual sugar, this Riesling is sweet, but balanced with crisp acidity that makes it clean and zesty. The flavors are of peaches, apricots, candied ginger, honeysuckle and vanilla. Low alcohol makes it easy to drink.

On the candied side, with pleasant ripe peach and apple notes that have an acidity that keeps everything lively. The spiciness kicks in on the finish.
