Ferrari was born over a century ago in 1902 through the efforts of Giulio Ferrari. After his studies in France, Ferrari returned to Trentino, Italy and planted Chardonnay, which no one had done before. Ferrari was convinced that through the combination of Trentino terroir, the innovative use of Chardonnay and the use of the traditional “metodo classico”, he could make world-class sparkling wines. By 1906, the awards started to roll in and Ferrari was well on its way to producing what would shortly become the most famous sparkling wine in all of Italy.  In 1952, Giulio Ferrari, not having any children, chose Bruno Lunelli, a friend and local merchant as successor for his beloved business. Today the third generation of the Lunelli family is at the helm and the winery could not be in better hands as it continues to be a perennial Tre Bicchieri winner. Read less

Rose - 90 Points, Wine Enthusiast / Ferrari's rose sparkler offers distinctive aromas of freshly baked bread and yeast followed by wild berries, stone fruit and citrus. The mouthfeel is intense and generous and this wine boasts a particularly creamy, full and satisfying mouthfeel.

Rose NV - 90 Points, Wine Enthusiast/ Layered, deep and opulent, this yeasty rose sparkling wine offers warm tones of baked bread, mature peach and honey with tart accents in the form of blueberry and raspberry. The wine delivers thick creaminess in the mouth and long persistency.

Rose - 92 Points, Wine Review Online/ ... Ferrari is a superb sparkling wine producer. A blend of Pinot Noir (60%) and Chardonnay, this is a seriously intense Rose... It conveys clear red wine character without losing any of the creamy elegance imparted by Chardonnay. Delightful to drink by itself, its power allows it to stand up to food, such as grilled salmon.

Rose - SmartMoney/ "Ferrari is a lot of wine for the money", says [Bobby] Stuckey. "It drinks like really delicious CHampagne." No surprise, since it's made using the same method.

/ The latest set of releases by Ferrari confirms what the Lunellis have been claiming for years; the Perle bottlings (a term indicating softer sparklers, much like France's cremants, bottled at lower atmospheric pressure) really are fine. These wines can rival better Champagnes, but keep in mind that they offer less yeasty nuttiness and more ripe fruit character. Salmon-pink color with a very fine mousse. Refined nose offers wild strawberry, raspberry and red rose aromas, complicated by hints of white pepper and clove. Inviting and nuanced on the palate, with captivating, deep flavors of ripe strawberry, orange peel, almond and mushroom. A complex bubbly that finishes long and clean, with a delicate balsamic edge.
