Food Pairings for Ferrari-Carano Vineyards & Winery Fume Blanc Sonoma County
Very nice sonoma sauvignon blanc. Lemon, white grapefruit, nice balance, good acidity. There's some spice and a little bite of oak on the mid palate. Excellent quality for the price.
Clear and very pale in the glass. To be expected grassy/green pepper nose. Very light on the palate. Slight grassy notes, some steely notes, some melony notes. Very slight tartness. Very quick finish but a very refreshing wine. $11.59 at Costco.
Straw colored in the glass with a pleasant nose. Crisp hints of apricot, pineapple, grapefruit and mineral. Zero finish. It does have a nice effervescent zing to it, but it's nothing I'd seek out again. - Schreiner's Winers "Springtime Sauvignon Blanc" Tasting 3/12/10
Welcome to the candy shop. This wine starts off like a Werther's Original creamy and caramel like. The finish is like a sour apple pop. You remember the kind that gets stuck on the roof of your mouth. Let the wine warm up a bit and you get nice hints of honeydew up front and crisp lime on the finish. For all of you Sauvignon Blanc fans who have relatives/sig others/friends who only drink sweet wines this is a great option for a wine that both you and they will enjoy. It's a deck smasher so drink it while the summer heat is here!
very earthy and smooth, enjoyed the citrusy flavors. I have enjoyed their Fume Blanc for years and always look forward to the new release.
very smooth, nice complexity of flavors

Aromas of lime, kiwi, citrus, melon and a touch of grass complemented by flavors of grapefruit, lemon and lime with a mango and guava finish. Cool, stainless steel tank fermentation gives this wine a crisp freshness while the subtle oak character from barrel aging adds complexity and depth. Made with 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
In business since 1985, Ferrari-Carano Wines are instantly recognizable nationwide. They produce wines from the Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley and Dry Creek Valley, with other locations as well.
The 2009 Fume Blanc offers aromas and flavors of flinty grapefruit and orange rind intermixed with a hint of honey. This exuberant, crisp, medium-bodied, fruity, extroverted white is a total hedonistic turn-on. Enjoy it over the next year. By the way, it is screw-cap finished so there is not a problem with corked bottles.
This 100% Sauv is delicately structured and dry and crisp in acidity. While it has a touch of oak, the fruit has been allowed to star. Lemon, lime, green apple, fig, honeydew and vanilla all come together in this pure, fresh wine.
Whether you call this wine Fumeacute; Blanc or Sauvignon Blanc after one taste you will love this one delicious wine. Ferrari-Carano makes a dazzling, concentrated Fumeacute; Blanc with a rich, creamy texture, packed with honey and melon flavors. A very well-made and elegant wine.
Refreshingly crisp, with lemon-lime, ripe peach, green apple and subtle herb notes. Therersquo;s good intensity and focus, with terrific acidity. Drink now.
Half-fermented in stainless steel, half in older oak, which is a common approach this day. This 100% varietal wine keeps Sauvignon's fresh, tart citrus fruit and acids, but adds just a little cream and softness. It's not a complicated wine, but it's a refreshing one, with some aspirations to complexity.
When the Sauvignon Blanc grapes arrive at the winery, each lot is gently crushed and pressed into stainless steel tanks for 48 hours of cold settling. The juice is either transferred to stainless steel tanks or older French oak barrels for fermentation. The wine in barrels is sur lie aged and stirred every week for one month. Individual lots are treated separately until blending to create the final Fumé Blanc blend.
Aromas of lime, kiwi, citrus, melon and a touch of grass are complemented by flavors of grapefruit, lemon, mango, and guava in Ferrari-Carano’s 2010 Fumé Blanc.
