Winemakers Notes

A Milanese Amaro from the Branca company, this potent spirit is a blend of over 40 herbs and spices including myrrh, rhubarb, chamomile, cardamom, aloe, and saffron, with a base of grape distilled spirits.

Originally created as a medicine for menstrual pains, it is usually served as a digestif today. It is also drunk over ice, in coffee (especially espresso) or as a bitter ingredient in a cocktail. In Argentina, it is incredibly popular served in a tall glass with ice and Coca-Cola!
