Fernando de Castilla Antique Palo Cortado L NV

Winemaker's Notes:

*International Trophy for Dry Fortified over £10 - Decanter World Wine Awards 2010* One of the most exceptional of the small independent sherry houses, Fernando de Castilla was revitalised in 1999 by Jan Pettersen, a Norwegian gone native with a passion for top quality sherry. In just a decade since then, Fernando de Castillo has earned a very high profile, and established itself as one of the outstanding producers in Jerez, consistently producing excellent sherry and winning a string of awards including a Decanter International Trophy in 2009 for its Amontillado. This is a particularly elegant sherry with elegant, lifted aromas of aged flor and raisin, opening onto a palate of harmony, spice and layered balance. This is a truly haunting and bewitching wine that serves as a perfect companion to cured hard cheeses such as Manchego or Parmesan.
