This is a promising négociant enterprise formed by André Brunel of Les Cailloux and Laurence Féraud of Domaine du Pégaü. Given their significant contacts in the southern Rhône Valley, their goal is to purchase fruit from old, established, primarily Grenache vineyards. The 2000 Gigondas is a seductive, voluptuous effort displaying terrific notes of blackberry fruit, chocolate, and kirsch. Medium to full-bodied, pure, and soft, this sexy, opulent Gigondas should be enjoyed over the next decade.
Medium- to full-bodied, with licorice, smoke and red berry notes. Quite supple at first, it turns tough on the finish. Just needs the right food. A tasty Vacqueyras. Drink now through 2006.
Bright red-ruby color. Superripe aromas of raspberry, strawberry, red licorice, garrigue and pepper. Then rather wound-up and reduced in the mouth, with hints of leather, black cherry, bitter chocolate, menthol and licorice. A substantial wine that finishes with slightly rustic tannins that dust the tongue and teeth.
Made in a modern style, rich and ripe, showing lovely plum, mineral and roasted nuts in a full-bodied package. Ripe tannins, with a real sense of class pushing through on the long finish. Lovely Gigondas. Drink now through 2010.
