Feraud-Brunel Cotes du Rhone Villages Rasteau 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

88 points Wine Spectator: Dark plum skin and blackberry fruit flavors pump along, buttressed by notes of ganache and cocoa powder, with a smoky, medium-weight finish. Drink now. (6/15/12) This is a joint venture between Laurence Féraud of Domaine du Pégaü, and Andre Brunel of Domaine les Cailloux.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

A great wine for the price, the 2010 Féraud-Brunel Côtes du Rhône Villages has blueberry, boysenberry and blackberry fruit, layered with woodspice and tobacco tones. The long finish is has notes of licorice.
