Felton Road Pinot Noir Block 5 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

Subtle aromas of exotic spices, dark roses, violets and dried red fruits. The palate is instantly about texture, richness, copious fine dark tannin and hints of spice; but fruit takes a distant back seat somewhere way down in the darkness. In a few years the treasure chest will no doubt open, but right now it is all intrigue. Polished and seamless with the usual luxuriant Block 5 finish.Winemaker notes.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Dried flowers and dark fruits. Strawberry. Beet root. Fine tannins. Bright tension. Drink or hold. James Suckling.

Dark red. Musky aromas of raspberry mocha and earth; very ripe in a Burgundy way. Plush broad and sweet showing a touch of youthful reduction to its generous raspberry and red cherry flavors. Finishes very long and scented with a fine dusting of tannins and subtle soil tones. A beauty. Stephen Tanzers IWC.

The crushed raspberry and wild strawberry flavors are pure bright and focused with aromatic green tea white pepper and cigar box notes filling in the gaps. Smooth refreshing and polished. Drink now through 2022.
