Favia Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2010

External Review by Prestige Wine & Spirits:

Brimming with lively currant, blueberry and raspberry flavors, with a dash of black licorice and underbrush, this is both tightly wound and sharply focused. A solid bet for the cellar. Best from 2014 through 2024.

Favia Erickson Winegrowers is a collaboration between Annie Favia and Andy Erickson. Our philosophy is simple: create soulful wines that express the true nature of the vineyards from which they come. We focus on finding unique vineyard sites with soils, climate and aspects ideal for growing exquisite wine grapes, and develop strong relationships with our winegrowers to perfect viticultural practices. In the winery, we carefully coax the grapes into wine. Gentle handling, minimal intervention, and strict monitoring of the wine allow our grapes to speak for themselves. Ultimately, we unite science, art and nature to produce unparalleled wines, each with its own distinct character. Read less

The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) comes from two AVAs, Coombsville and Oakville. A dense ruby/purple color is followed by scents of wet rocks, sweet black currants, cherries, and spice box. The wine is full-bodied with sweet tannin and a long, positive, dense finish. The ripeness, density and silkiness make it accessible, but it has 15+ years of cellaring potential.
