starts out with a nicely spicy, full and deep berry nose somewhat earthy and/or barnyard-like which comes off to me like burnt firecrackers or sparklers. after being open it gets more steely and has more pronounced cherries, the body also softens out.
Good basic wine. Cherry and earth.
